I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as a firm base for our therapy approach. EFT is an evidence-based, structured approach that has been shown to be highly effective in helping couples overcome relational problems and develop deeper, more meaningful connections with each other.
In a safe, non-judgmental surrounding, where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, you along with the therapist as the choreographer of your healing process, can develop practical strategies to improve your (mis)communication, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger, more satisfying relationship with your partner. We will work collaboratively with you to identify your unique needs and goals, and tailor our approach to meet your specific concerns.
"A strong and loving relationship is possible for every couple, and I am here to help you achieve that."
When working with adolescents in psychotherapy, a psychologist may provide support to both the adolescent and their parents in a variety of ways.
Firstly, the psychologist may provide individual therapy sessions for the adolescent, in which they work collaboratively to identify the adolescent’s unique needs and goals. The therapist will create a safe and non-judgmental space where the adolescent can explore their thoughts and feelings, and develop practical strategies to overcome challenges related to anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity issues, and other concerns.
Additionally, the psychologist may provide family therapy sessions, in which they work with both the adolescent and their parents to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build stronger relationships. Family therapy can be particularly effective in helping adolescents and their parents develop a deeper understanding of each other’s perspectives and needs, and work together to create a more supportive and positive home environment.
The psychologist may also provide education and guidance to the parents, helping them to better understand their adolescent’s behaviour and emotional needs, and providing them with practical strategies to support their child’s emotional well-being. This may include providing resources and tools for parents to use at home, such as coping skills or communication techniques.
Overall, the psychologist’s goal is to provide comprehensive support to both the adolescent and their parents, working collaboratively to create a positive and supportive environment in which the adolescent can thrive.
The children do what they see and learn from the ones that set the axamples. Their patterns of behaviour are inherited.
